How To Put Store Offline?

Hello,
Wanted to see if there is a way to put a store in offline mode? The extension i've used for years (Hikashop) always had a option in configuration to Put the store in offline mode which would give visitors a message that The shop is in maintenance no matter which product link they clicked.
If this option is not possible do we just disable the entire extension on backend pretty much? Thnx

That feature wasn't planned, nobody asked for it, so you have to improvise. You can make shop component visible only for different user level (access rights), do it from component ACL settings or menu items settings. You can also change shop menu item from current easystore view to article view with short message etc.
So there is no need to disable the component, you just need to play with the permissions. After all, a few more clicks compare to HS.
