Acaully I just understood the isssue is that I should NOt upgrade helix ultimate framework from 1.xx to 2.x ! can you tell me where I can download the latest 1.x helix ultimate framework ( 1.1.4) please ?

Have you tried to uninstall Helix plugin and install Helix again, we talk about HU 2.0.4

Besides, it's worth to keep old version of templates in case of similar problem.

I'm sorry but it is not fully fixed. Some errors disappear but reinstalling the 1.1.4 didn't solve all the issues.

1- we have our own template which is a copy of the basic helix ultimate template but when we edit it (administrator/index.php?option=com_templates&view=style&layout=edit&id=11) it is still noted 2.0.4 instead of 1.1.4

On /index.php?option=com_installer&view=manage the version for the framework is still 2.0.4

2- in the front end we have display issues (the whole content now takes 100% of the width instead of being inside a fixed container)

I even uninstalled the HU framework and the HU template, reinstalled the 1.1.4 package. now the back office shows 1.1.4 (good) but the front end still has issues.

it's weird since we don't use HU template but a copy we made (from the joomla template admin panel)

ok I found what remained : when you install a new framework template it becomes the default one! I had to set my duplucated template as the default one thanks

In most cases after upgrade or downgrade you have to:

1. Clear Joomla cache (also in JCH Optimze - you use it)
2. Clear browser cache
3. In Template Options - Advanced - Compile SCSS to CSS: OFF - then Save - and then try to enable again.
4. Make sure that Helix plugin has this same version as Helix Template.

To see changes / correct view.
