How do You Create A Site Wide Side Bar

If you are using both helix and sp page builder, how do you create a universal sidebar for both pages and articles? I'm sick of directions that tell you what you "can" do. I need to know what to do, when to use SP Page Builder, when to use Helix, and the steps you take to create a site that looks uniform whether you are on a page or on an article.
PS The documentation for Helix is set of "what you can do" but nothing on actually how to do it.

Accepted AnswerHi. If you need page with sidebar, then use joomla article page. If you need page without sidebar, like landing page with full width sections backgrounds, use sp pb page.
