Placeholder override/translation

Hi,

I can't manage to override the Placeholder text in the Checkout page, could you tell me the way to do that please?

Actually want to replace "Customer Note" by another mention.

Hi Oliver,

try to override & translate that language phrase: COM_EASYSTORE_CUSTOMER_NOTE

if won't help, you have to edit that file from component folder:

layouts\checkout\customer-note.php

I confirm the override doesn't have effect.

I modified the indicated file: doing this is working fine.

FYI, the override still doesn't work...

And the file I modified has naturaly been deleted with the last update.

Well I had to edit it again and modify it again.

You told me this would be fixed in the new update and it is not. You absolutely have (and your staff) to be more scrupulous on what is to be done, if you want the product to progress and gain in efficiency and performance! Otherwise, you'll continue to suffer justified criticism and very bad publicity...

Hello!

Language override does work if you have the correct names. Google found old names so I too thought it did not work. I am on the newest EasyStore 1.7.7 + Joomla 5.2.2 (as of April 2026). Searching in language override didn't find the names but going to the php file directly I found the names and then language override worked. It was here: /components/com_easystore/layouts/checkout/contact.php (in case you are on a different version).

COM_EASYSTORE_PROFILE_LABEL_COMPANY_NAME
and
COM_EASYSTORE_PROFILE_LABEL_COMPANY_ID
