Error Accessing Property Details in SP Property Properties Extension

Asked by PAULA123AMARAL 1 year ago Last activity 1 year ago

Issue Description:
I am using the SP Property Properties extension with the Shaper_Estate theme on my website (keillacosta.com.br), which is running Joomla 4.4.9. Until June 7th, everything was working correctly. However, when trying to access the details of a registered property, the following error message appears:
0
Class "JDispatcher" not found

Expected Behavior:
When clicking on a registered property, I expected to be redirected to the property details page, displaying all the relevant information about the property.

Actions Taken Before the Issue:

No recent updates to Joomla, the extension, or the theme were performed before the error occurred.
No significant changes were made to the code or the configurations of the extension or the theme.
Additional Notes:

The issue persists across different browsers and devices.
The extension was working fine before the mentioned date.
The homepage and other functionalities of the site are operating without issues.
I would appreciate guidance on how to resolve this issue and restore access to the property details pages.

Hello PAULA123AMARAL

The issue is on the JDispatcher function which is deprecated on Joomla 4. I have updated this file:

templates/shaper_estate/html/com_spproperty/property/default.php

It works fine now. We will update it on the next template update. This is the file if you need it again before the update.

default.php.zip

Best regards

Hello,

I followed the provided steps, but the issue still persists. Here’s what I did:

Accessed the site and confirmed that the error was present. I cleared my computer’s cache, but the problem remained.
Replaced the file templates/shaper_estate/html/com_spproperty/property/default.php with the version provided in the default.php.zip attachment.
Cleared the Joomla cache (System > Clear Cache and System > Expire Cache) and also cleared my browser cache.
Tested the property details page again, but the same error appears:

0
Class "JDispatcher" not found

Could you please provide further assistance? I’m available for additional tests or to provide more information if needed.

I have removed the override from your site. Use it and allow me some time. I will fix your issue soon.

Hooray! I have solved it. Please go to this location:

templates/shaper_estate/html/com_spproperty/property

and replace default.php file with the attached file. You need to unzip the file and then replace.

property_default.php.zip

Also, you might face this on Agent details page. Please go to this location:

templates/shaper_estate/html/com_spproperty/agent

and replace default.php file with the attached file. You need to unzip the file and then replace.

agent_default.php.zip

I would like to start by thanking you for your assistance in resolving the previous issue we encountered. The solution you provided worked perfectly, and the functionality is now restored.

I would also like to suggest an improvement to enhance the user experience on the website. Currently, the images displayed in the property listings are not clickable, which has caused some frustration among users. Several visitors have mentioned that they expect to be redirected to the property detail page when clicking on an image, but this action is not supported.

My suggestion is to make the images clickable so that they lead directly to the respective property detail page. This change would make navigation more intuitive and aligned with user expectations.

Thank you for considering this suggestion, and I appreciate your efforts to continually improve the extension.

You can achieve this now. I have added links for the property images. Clicking on the images will take you to the property details page. Please go to this location:

templates/shaper_estate/html/layouts/com_spproperty/properties

and replace property.php file with the attached file. You need to unzip the file and then replace.

property.php.zip

I would like to express my satisfaction with the solution implemented by developer Ofi Khan. The component that displays all the properties turned out excellent, with the properties now clickable and working perfectly. I truly appreciate the great work done so far.

However, I noticed that the same functionality has not been applied to the homepage, specifically in the property search module (SP Property Properties). Would it be possible to extend this improvement to that area as well? I believe this would make the user experience even more complete.

Thank you in advance for your attention and dedication!

PAULA123AMARAL Asked this

I appreciate once again your attention and openness to feedback. I’d like to let you know that I’ve already submitted my reviews on both the Joomla Extensions Directory and TrustPilot. I understand how important these reviews are for your work, and I’m happy to contribute.

Regarding the adjustment to the presentation module on the homepage, where the properties are displayed, would it be possible to implement the same functionality applied to the properties component? The idea is to make the items displayed on the homepage clickable, redirecting users to the specific pages of each property.

Thank you in advance for your attention and support!
