webp inside Article Blog Media tab

Asked by komir 6 months ago Last activity 6 months ago

Hi, I am having an issue displaying WebP images on my Joomla site. The problem is specifically related to the "Blog Media" tab inside the Joomla Article editor.

Here is the exact behavior I am experiencing:

Backend is fine: After I upload a WebP image, it is displayed correctly inside the Article -> Blog Media tab as a preview media.

Standard Image Addon works: If I add the exact same WebP image directly using the SP Page Builder "Image" addon, it is perfectly visible on the frontend.

The Issue: When I use the SP Page Builder "Articles" addon to display those articles on the frontend, the WebP images are completely invisible/missing.

It seems the "Articles" addon is specifically failing to render WebP format images pulled from the article's media settings, even though the site and SP Page Builder generally support WebP.

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out and for the detailed explanation.

Could you please provide the URL of the affected page where the WebP images are not displaying in the Articles addon? This will help us check the issue more accurately.

Thanks.
