Two People Can Edit The Same Article Simultaneously

SP Page Builder 3 years ago

When one person is editing an article using the SP Page Builder front end editor, another person can open/edit/save the same article simultaneously in Joomla Content>Articles, as it does not show as locked for editing there.

I discovered this when trying to edit using SPPB front end editor, and the article was shown as locked there. I knew no-one else was editing (the site isn't live yet) so went to Content>Articles to try and check the article back in, but that wasn't possible because it didn't show as locked. Instead I successfully edited and saved the article there.

I did eventually manage to book the article back in, but only through System Global Check-In, which is crude, as you cannot select a single article. You have to check in all SPPB articles.

This is not acceptable when the site goes live. Is there a way to prevent it?

In admin area you can see who is logged so in that time do not edit pages or contact with 2nd editor who is editing what. By now this kind of human cooperation is the only way to reduce problems. But I agree that "lock" can help a lot.

Toufiq; Thanks for your answer, but I can't agree that preventing simultaneous editing is a "feature". It shouldn't be possible, and only becomes possible if you install SP Page builder, so it's clearly a fault in SPPB.

Paul; Thanks, that's more or less the only option until the problem is fixed. Hopefully next update?

By the way, I do like SP Page Builder, and will continue with it! This is a relatively minor fault.

Regards Mike

Hi Toufiq Thanks. Good that it's been sent to your developer team, but please do not refer to it as a "feature". It is clearly a fault which should have been identified and eliminated before release of SPPB front end editor. I'm hoping it is addressed in a near update.
