Unable To Scroll User Categories In Pagebuilder Permissions

SP Page Builder 3 years ago

We are unable to scroll in the permissions panel within pagebuilder. The bottom of the list is cut off and trying to scroll just scrolls the pagebuilder page versus the list of available user types. This is happening on all of our websites.

Is this a local issue or a bug that will be resolved in a future release?

Becuase this will need to be replicated on a lot of websites that we have, all of which are experiencing an issue, would you be able to just give me the path to the CSS file that needs updating? We will put this in our notes and update each site as needed.

This issue seems to have retunred. It wasn't fixed with the release and the updates undid the CSS override to the pagebuilder file

Did you check Page Builder latest version 5?

I can't use 5 because page level permissions do not exist. There is no way to set user edit permissions on a page level that I could find. Need that functionality.

In SPPB 3.x - Administrator > Components > Pagebuilder > Pages > Left Side Globe > Permissions

You can change the edit, edit state, and delete for any page based on user groups. I have only been able to change edit permissions globally in 5, meaning that any user can edit any page. When we build sites, we only want certain users to be able to edit certain pages based on their role.

It was the functionality that was discussed in this thread.

The video is showing the global user permissions. I am talking about the individual page edit permissions that are modified by clicking on the globe on the pagebuilder page on the backend.

You can see what I am talking about in the Google Drive link.

SPPB 3 - there is no way to scroll down the user list of uers. This was resolved with an override that was provided a while go (part of this thread), but it was never fixed in pagebuilder and the SPPB 3 update wiped out the override. We do not modify it often so I ust noticed it

SPPB 5 - There is no way to modify permissions on a page basis. The only option I can find is global, giving all users with edit permissions the ability to edit ANY pagebuilder page versus just the specific page assigned to that user. Edit own doesn't resolve this because they aren't building the page, they just have edit permisions to modify the content on a single page within their department.

Yes, That is the area that I am talking about. There are many more user groups but the scroll moves the main frame (website) versus the overlay of the user groups.

.sp-pagebuilder-admin ul.nav.nav-tabs { height: 600px; overflow-x: scroll; }

solved it but gets overridden each time there is a new release and there I could not find this feature in SPPB 5. It was supposed to be resolved in SPPB 3 a year ago but doesn't seem to have made it into the release.

Please see the video that I posted for the issue with the scroll.

Thank you!

If this could be added to the feature list for SPPB 5, that would be great. It is an important feature when we have a lot of users with different permissions across the websites that we maintain.

Right now we are happy with SPPB 3, but to upgrade, that is a must for us.

Is there a way to set these permissions on each page on 5? I did download to test but I couldn't find this function in there.

Other than that, it is looking good in my tests, but I can't use it until the permissions can be adjusted in there.

Looks like parts of your changes were blocked by our firewall.

Would you be able to let me know the fix so that I can replicate the steps on our other sites that are experiencing the same issue?

Also, is it safe to update or will that wipe out the fix?

Hello,

I was following this thread and would like to add my support for sdlsites request to add page level permissions to SPPB5.

Like them, we cannot move from 3.8.x to SPPB5 on our production sites until this feature is added.

Do we have an eta on when this feature will be generally available in SPPB5? Is it possible to get a dev version for testing?

Thank you! EJ

Toufig,

I have just downloaded and tested SPPB 5.0.1. When viewing the page settings in SPPB 5.0.1 I do NOT see the "Globe/permissions" option that was available in SPPB 3.8.x.

I do see the "Access Level" settings as was previously available in SPP 3.8.x.

Am I missing something or need to enable a setting to view this page level option?

Here is a screenrecording showing the differences between 3.8 and 5.0.1

Thanks, EJ

I am with them Shorecrest - 5.0.1 doesn't have page level permissions, unless I am looking in the wrong place. It is different than access level, as we are talking about edit versus view permissions.

I would assume that it will be released with the next major version (5.1) versus a bug fix release, but if it ws supposed to be in 5.0.1, I am strugging to find it as well.

Thank you again for your quick work on the scroll issue. It is appreciated.

SDLSites,

Thank you for clarifying!

Regarding the scroll issue in 3.8.10

What is the fix specifically? Is there a newer version of SPPB 3.8.x that fixes the CSS issue for scrolling on the Page Level Edit feature?

I added this to - administrator/components/com_sppagebuilder/assets/css/sppagebuilder.css

;.sp-pagebuilder-admin ul.nav.nav-tabs{height: 600px;overflow-x: scroll;}

But it did not resolve the issue on my 3.8.10 site.

Thanks, EJ

Like SDLsites, I am unable to scroll thru the list of User Groups when trying to set page level edit permissions in SPPB 3.8.10.

I thought the fix was to update the CSS?

That is really critical functionality at the core of the pagebuilder... If you aren't going to add it, what are the ongoing support plans for 3.x? It will be impossible to upgrade without proper permissions.

Toufiq, I would like to echo SDLsites request to add page level permissions to SPPB 5.x.

In any size organization, there is a critical need to provide granular page level permissions to a a specific user group at the page level. This is expecially important if authors do not have backend access.

This feature was present in SPPB 3.x therefore I don't understand how this core feature could be deprecated.

Please re-consider this feature request. Thanks,
