The announcement of version 2.0.7 says that the css and js compression problem is solved. But in the informative text of the section it says that they are still working on it. It's solved? Thanks

Here is the image you requested:

  • Image URL: Edited Out Afterr Unsubscribint to the Ticket

However, I tried enabling both CSS and JS compressions and it caused my website to crash. I do not recommend turing compression on until someone troubleshoots the issues.

If you have technical problems use only CSS compression.

JS compression in some cases may cause problems if you forgot to Exclude sensitive files. Every site is different so you have to check it deeply alone. In the website without additional extensions is easier to set everything.

Is somehow it's still a riddle, do not use those options and maybe use external compression tool.

Even Google says that too huge single css and js is bad.

I wanted to avoid troubleshooting this issue as I already have 2 other unanswered pending tickets. However, here I go again.

  • Compress CSS Files: The website crashes when enabled.
  • Compress Javascript Files: Compression seems to work well when enabled.

I can confirm that enabling the "Compress Javascript Files" setting increased my Google Pagespeed Insights' score from 88 to 89 and the increase in speed is noticable on the frontend.

Is this speed increase (from 88 to 89) on the Mobile or Desktop site?

My desktop site gets 94 while the mobile site is consistent between 76-79

Enabling compression for css and js had no effect on speeds.

Here are more specific test using Google PageSpeed Insights

Here are my settings:

  • System - Page Cache: Enabled
  • System Cache: ON Conservative Caching

Here are the tests:

---CASSIOPEA TEMPLATE without MODULES---

  • Desktop: 99
  • Mobile: 84

---CASSIOPEA TEMPLATE with MODULES---

  • Desktop: 91
  • Mobile: 55

---HELIX ULTIMATE TEMPLATE with MODULES---

CSS and JS Compress Off:

  • Desktop: 88
  • Mobile: 54

CSS Compress On + JS Compress Off:

  • Desktop: Crashes Website
  • Mobile: Crashes Website

CSS Compression Off + JS Compress On:

  • Desktop: 90
  • Mobile: 55

CSS and JS Compress On:

  • Desktop: Crashes Website
  • Mobile: Crashes Website

For me, turning on CSS Compression crashes my website.

Can you test your website using the default Joomla template?

For me, it appears that my low scores on are due to the modules on my homepage are not optimized for mobile.
