Various "Read More" Problems With Melvin Template

There appear to be at least two problems with the Melvin template when it comes to using Intro text and displaying the Read More button in category view of a blog layout.

  1. In a category blog of Joomla Articles (all created in the default article system), the Read More button does not display even when enabled in Article Manager properties.

  2. If you create a Joomla Article using SP Page Builder as the editor and add a Read More link within some text, nothing is displayed in the category blog except the title. Only when you view the whole article is the text and everything else displayed.

Thank you. The Read More's work fine now, what did you change?

However the Read More within page builder still isn't working 'properly' but maybe its not meant to?

What I want to achieve is this:

Lets say I have a Joomla Article where I've used SP Page Builder as the editor and in this article I've added a single row with a text block. In this text block I've entered some text and then inserted a Read More tag. Below that tag I've added more text. Below this row I've added a new row with say some images.

When viewing the blog category, I'd want to see the first bit of text in the first row that is BEFORE the Read More tag but nothing else that was after it. When I view the full article, I'd then see the the entire article, that being the text before the Read More, the text after and the images in the 2nd row.

As it stands at the moment, all I see is the article title and a Read More button.

No need to add read more text inside the page builder elements. Check the first article

Yes but that doesn't show any intro text. All I see is the blog image, title and Read More. I'd want to display some intro text as well.

If you use the page builder inside the article then you have to put intro text and readmore inside the Joomla content area then you have to select the page builder. Bottom of readmore code inside the Joomla content area for the search result. Please check the first article. Thanks

I see. This only works though when using the Tiny MCE editor, is that correct? If I set Global Config to use the JCE editor, the full article does not display correctly.
