Update Template

Hi
I've been using quiet a lot of templates for various websites. Sometimes I made little tweaks in the template.css and the preset1.css, preset2.css...
If i update a template, will all my changes be gone? If i update a template, will all the settings be gone in Helix Framework, like custom code, settings for logo, header,...
Is there an option to install the new version of the template side by side an old version? Like Template Fixter v1 and a v2? If anything is not ok in version 2, i can just go back to version 1... Or compare them...?
Right now, i never auto-updated a template in the joomla update section. But with Joomla 4 on its way, i'm taking smll steps to upgrade...

Actually, you are not supposed to touch the Template.css file, yes it will revert back each time with updates. Please use the Custom CSS field of your Template Options or create a custom.css file and keep all the CSS changes in this single file. Then update will make no harm.

Version 1 and 2 cannot be keep at the same time I guess. But you can keep full backup of your site frequently, it is really so important. If there is any issue suddenly then you can simply restore the working backed up version, and all will be fine.
