Admin Tool Protection And SP Page Builder

SP Page Builder 4 years ago

Hi,

I'm using akeeba admin tools to protect /www/administrator folder thanks to .htaccess and .htpasswd files, works fine. I'm also using Joomshaper SP Page builder and works fine but, I have found something strange. When I'm logged in from website front-end, then I click EDIT PAGE button to modify page content with SP Page builder but I always get apache authentification popup.

I have contacted akeeba admin tools support and here is the reply from The Lead Developer : https://prnt.sc/xyohof

As Nicholas said, the problem is not coming from admin tools, but from SP page builder which loads from front-end files located under /administrator/components/com_sppagebuilder folder.

I had some discussion with Paul few months ago and I would like to know if this behavior will be corrected with SP page builder v4.0 ?

Thanks L.

I have added in our working board. I hope they will check. But, they are busy for the Joomla 4 compatible. They need time. Thanks

Hi there,

Thanks for contacting us. Sorry for the inconvenience. Mainly the Admin tools is not compatible with the Page Builder. Besides, there is no plan to add compatiblity with the admin tools.

-Thanks

Hi,

thanks for your feedback. I understand what you say but this is not a compatibility problem. As admin tools support said, this is a conception problem. Normally, joomla extensions are not supposed to load files located under www/administrator folder..especially when the extension is used from website front-end.

so do you think it could be possible to forward this request to developer's team?

thank you very much. a cleat status would be nice. even if not possible, an open question could be : how to secure /www/administrator folder if SPPB load files from this location ?
