No Helix In Module

Helix Framework 2 years ago

I am just wondering if there is a way to prevent the Helix Framework CSS stuff from being used in a specific module?

Basically I am trying to use 3rd party extension to get the behaviour I need, like a usable Joomla Latest Articles layout, but the results are so different when testing these extensions in my website as opposed to testing on Cassiopeia. I am just trying to use them alone, not in an SP PB page Cheers

Hi. Prevent - no. Override - yes

Cheers for response I suppose it would be too much to ask that it is a simple 1 click solution :-)

I am not a member of the Joomshaper team therefore, with all my desire, I could not fulfill your request even if it will possible. But this is generally not possible.

You should understand how the template works in Joomla and in general in any CMS. How works general CSS code and CSS files of whole site. You can not turn off its styles in a separate module. You can only override this for separate module using your own CSS code (in custom.css file) by changing the properties and their meanings as you need.

It is for this in the modules, in menu items and in many other places in Joomla there is a field to add your own class.

And even if it will possible to disable template's styles for separate module, you would not get anything from this. Your module will turn into a simple HTML marking without any styles (unless the module has owned styles in its code). Since the template's styles are the only styles that are used on the page. It is impossible to get styles from Cassiopea if Helix Ultimate is assigned to the page and vice versa

Thank you very much for the detailed response. I will be migrating site to a new domain at some point and I am thinking I might be best sticking with Cassiopeia during that process, extension just seem to work better with it and Helix native search, latest articles, category and tags lists, lack of custom field support in terms of display and... well sorry for ramble, just a bit frustrated I can't see to realise my vision of the site no matter what I do without months of training. Personal site, no compensation for running it so.

The fact is that absolutely any template in the world is unlikely to satisfy extra desire in appearance. Therefore, there are two options for you - to use a template as it is from a box or learn CSS and do everything in any template as you like.

Cassiopea is a magnificent template, but only if you know HTML/CSS/JS. Helix gives many opportunities from the box for those who do not know the code which are not in Cassiopea

Well Helix is requiring me to do CSS and Override for those items I mentioned above so. Just wish some effort was put into those components. For now I'll just have to accept a site which is only half done with what I want, but since I'm only client, acceptable I suppose. Cheers again for taking the time to chat, much appreciated
