Customize Slideshow Addon

SP Page Builder 2 years ago

Hello!

We have a client's site which is running content created on Quix on the homepage. We are unable to udpate the site's PHP version because Quix is not fully compatible. All our newer sites are being built with SP Page Builder as we didn't like Quix support.

Now, the issue I'm having is that the first slide on the slider is not actually done through the slider element on Quix, we had to customize the addon to add code to pull the slide image and text direclty from Segmint. Would we be able to do something similar using SP Page Builder? Please view this quick video explaining what we did and what we need to be able to do using SP Page Builder: https://www.loom.com/share/12dffe3d5b2c49079483f226161a5447

Second issue is that while working on SP Page Builder, I add the slideshow to the builder, but when I change the height setting from Window Height to Custom, the slider disappears completely from the builder. If I save the page and refresh the frontend, the slider does show up, but I just can't see it on the builder if I want to set a custom height to it.

Thanks!

Hi,

In theory it should be possible, becuase Slideshow addon in SPPB is also based on php file (two files, but you have to focus on one site.php)

About 2nd issue, what SPPB version you are using - v3.9.x or v4.0.x

Can you create a video as well so I will be able to show our developer to check and fix it before upcoming update.

About bg color change during hover - yes, one line of custom CSS may be needed. I suggest to add that effect for column, not addon.

Hello Paul!

Appreciate your answer, I will play around with the slideshow addon today and let you know if I have any questions or issues.

Regarding the slideshow issue here is the video: https://www.loom.com/share/bc063527c0bf421f808418cbeab3b261 While making it I figured out what was happening. When you open SP Page Builder, the default viewport is Laptop, so I was setting the height for it for laptop, and my screen is 2560 px wide, and the value I set on the Custom Height is only being applied for that device, so it might be best to make the rest of the viewport sizes inherit the value you use which could then be overriden. I explain it a bit better on the video, hopefully.

Thanks!
