Hi Maria,

By now is not possible. Why? becuase it's SP LMS, not shop component. And it's quite natural that user need account to use LMS (with online lessons) after purchase. Something else is selling LMS courses (on the front on laptop) compared to dance lessons in the building with people. Am I right?

I will ask for that feature, but ???

Anyway, I think you should consider a component change from LMS to SHOP (e-commerce).

Hi Paul thank you for you reply how do I change from LMS to shop? and if a do change to shop does that mean i cant use LMS to setup classes for the site? Does that mean I have to re do the classes as a new page etc?

A quick sollution to this could be not asking to registering just add to the check out, Guest Checkout as option if they choose Guest Checkout they put their info Name and email and click the pay button

At the back end joomla could open an account for them with no hassel .

Any way let me know what and if i can do somthing to make it easy for clients to buy the classes.

Thank you again

For Joomla there are few popular e-commerce components, for example, HikaShop (free/pro), JoomShopping (free), eSHOP (paid).

LMS =/= Hikashop (or different shop component) totally independed & different extensions.

Altenative idea: use event component that allows sell "tickets".

About SP LMS possible changes - I can only add to wish-list, as I already did.

Hi Paul thank you again for you reply

At the Hidden Content you wrote to me: "Don't get me wrong, but you should have consulted with a Joomla expert first before you used the LMS to sell offline courses. Sometimes even 15 min consultancy can save a lot of money and time."

Paul are you saiyng that all joomshaper clients must stop buying the joomshaper tenplates and to first consulted with a Joomla expert?

The Yoga theme needs an update but in general it does the job. I could not imagen that somthing as needed and simple as guest checkout would not work for a joomshaper tenplate thats way i beileve you must put this infomartion on the tenplate detailes.

Anyways I know your doing the best you can and thanks again for your time

Kindly Maria

I mean that it's always to ask expert before using a specific component - that's all. Joomla has still huge community - use it. Even I consult with my friends from time to time, no matter that we know Joomla since 2005, or even Mambo.

And yes, your request was added by me to wish-list.

Maria, i am Tom and i am also just a customer here and despite there being a lot wrong with some templates and extensions i unfortunately have to agree with Paul's statement.

From all the information here, you failed to match your requirements to the capabilities of the template and then look for an alternative method to implement a membership component. Templates generally don't include this functionality as it is not the task of a template. A template is only how the site layout is created and how the content is styled, it is not about adding functionality beyond reason. This is also not how Joomla works or intends templates to function.

To make things easy, there are components out there, that would implement the functionality you search. In essence you add a group and after payment the person signing up gets assigned to that group. That group then get's access to the content. This is a very basic explanation from a 10,000 feet height, but as i don't have more information, i can't really say more.

Please search for Membership Pro or for RS Membership, or a general search on the Joomla Extension Directory and then look for Membership & Subscriptions. It will give you list of a bunch of extensions you could use. And this time please research of what these components can do and if it includes a payment processor that you can and want to use.

From whatever i know, i can only recommend that you take a couple of days and first nail down your requirements. Write them up, do your research, come back where you can't find a solution, change your requirements and implement workarrounds. In essence creating a web-presence is not that different from creating a business plan or any other project in IT. It starts with gathering ideas, then research, writing down requirements, consultation, more research, an action plan and then you implement to put it very simplistic.

@Thomas

Thanks, and yes, I fully agree with you.

One person may use Shop component and it would be OK for him/her, but 2nd webmaster may use extra Membership or Event component - also can work great. All kind of LMS are mostly for online course (lessons) with registeres/logged users. Something else is selling a gift for friend as "course".

The most important thing is to think carefully (and write down) what you are selling and how you want to achieve it. Also, yes preview the competition solutions from city/local bussiness .
