SP Page Builder V5.0.2 Update Breaks Image Element

Hi,

Just updated Page Builder to v5.0.2 and noticed that some images are not being displayed after the update and are replaced by the image text input. Downgrading to v5.0.1 restores the proper displaying of images. Oddly, this behaviour is not throughout; some pages actually still display images that are contained within an image box. Odder still is that the images are showing when in EDIT MODE of the page that isn't displaying them while viewing live. Will continue using v5.0.1 until fix is in place.

Regards.

Hi,

Noticed that SPPB v5.0.3 update has been made available. I've installed this update and the images are no longer missing from the pages as before. Thanks!

Regards.

Hi Robert,

I couldn't reproduce your issue, but I believe what you say. What kind of path to images you used there, added manually or by select image file. Can you show me (screenshot) example path (from setting) to broken image file? We have to know details to create a fix asap.

Do we talk about Image addon only? If yes:

  1. copy that folder /components/com_sppagebuilder/addons/image - to your disk
  2. install SPPB 5.0.2 Pro
  3. and override folder (with files) from (1)
  4. preview page again.

This same you can do for the Person addon - just in case of...

Hi,

I actually uploaded the site from my WAMP Server to the live server and the images magically appeared. Such a very odd behaviour. Works live but not when viewed via WAMP; though as I stated before, other images from the template are working without issue and display properly. All images are being pulled from folders within the /images director; so saying that, there is no image storage variation with regards to images used throughout the site.

Regards.

Same Issue here, all background images are gone. Upgraded from 4.x to 5.0.2

Images are properly shown in the Editor but not on the published version you can check it out here https://lfg.ch

About your localhost is beyond our access to help more in this stage.

Those bg images were added on localhost as well? If yes, it seems that WAMP server used wrong "/" for path.

Can you update path to bg image (reselect again in Row Options) and preview, please.

Hi,

I did not change any image paths whatsoever. Only site modification was the SP Page Builder v5.0.1 >> v5.0.2 migration. The images were displayed on the page prior to v5.0.2 update. Additionally, the images reappear immediately upon migrating back to v5.0.1. As stated above, this only happens while in the WAMP Server environment since when I posted the site LIVE, the images magically reappeared. I will continue to troubleshoot the issue on my end and will post any fix that I may find.

Also, I copied the v5.0.1 folder /components/com_sppagebuilder/addons/image to my desktop and then installed v5.0.2 as requested. I then copied that folder over the v5.0.2 folder and the site broken. Not sure what that is all about since I compared the files inside Notepad++ previously to this action and the files all compared as SAME. No big deal, just restore backup and then back to troubleshooting.

Regards.

@Mike, as I said before, can you reselect those bg images again, it may help SPPB find correct path after update. And you are using real hosting or localhost?

In changelog I saw that we made one change for images relative path. I have ask our developer for details.

Hi Paul Thanks for the quick answer. I already tried to reselect the picture. Does not work. This would also mean, that i have to go over all the pages and do this, but anyway it does not work. This is live, not to disturbing for a short time. as you can see it adds an extra "/" in front of the path. /\images\2020\05\07\gruppenfoto2018_small.jpg . You can check https://lfg.ch/

yes, we noticed that after today extra tests. We apologise for the temporary problem.

Windows (WAMP) uses different path then Linux, in our team we use 99% Mac ...so we could miss it.

and YES we will fix it in 5.0.3 this week. By then you can reinstall with older SPPB 5.0.1.

Hi,

This v5.0.2 issue seems to only become prevelant with localhost servers since; as with Mike's experience, I too have noticed that the issue does not arise when the site goes LIVE. I have downgraded to SPPB v5.0.1 until this issues has been resolved. It would be useful if the older files were made available for download; instead of just the latest version, since many people primarily update via the Joomla extentions update system. Without these files being made available, the only course of action to downgrading would be to reinstall an backup that contains the older version of SPPB.

Regards.
