Can't Clear Cache With SEF URL's Enabled - Admin Area CSS Breaks

Hi,

I'm using the Pitech template and Joomla 4.3.3, and I'm having a problem when I clear the cache. If I enable SEF URL's and rename the htaccess file to .htaccess the site works as expected, but if I then clear / delete all the cache the Joomla Admin area breaks (the CSS breaks). The front end works ok, and if I rename the .htaccess back to htaccess.txt the admin area start working properly again.

I have tested this on my site a few times, and I have installed a clean version of the Pitech template separately (using the Quickstart Joomla 4 package) and get the same problem.

I have provided access to site(s) and would be grateful for some help!

Thanks

Hi,

I have managed to fix this now. Just in case it helps anyone else, it appears that the GoDaddy server I'm using is already gzipping css and js files, so I don't need the GZIP section in the htaccess file (at the bottom of the file). I have commented out the GZIP section and the site is working properly now (both frone end and backend).

Thanks!

Hi. Try to do this: download the clean Joomla from joomla.org, copy the contents from htaccess.txt and replace it in your .htaccess. There were made corrections that are apparently not contained in Quickstart from Joomshaper.

Hi,

Thanks for your suggestion Pavel. I tried this but still have the same problem. Since I had downloaded a copy of Joomla 4 (4.3.3) I tried installing that on the same GoDaddy server... and I have the same / similar problems when I rename the htaccess file that this site is using? I have also downloaded and installed a copy of Joomla 3.10.12 and that doesn't have the same problem, so I guess I have an issue with Joomla 4 or with the GoDaddy host environment?

I'm not sure what to try next - I'd be grateful for any thoughts. I assume it's just me that's having this issue?

Thanks
