In general, columns are now equal height by default. Which version of SP Page Builder Pro you are using, please?

As you can see from the following screenshot that columns are occupying same height still, but you have been set backgrond color and box styles at the addon level so it appears this way depending on the content length.

You may try to set background color of the columns, instead of addon.
