I'm confused about Font Book. I do not have Google Fonts turned off or blocked. I assumed that I should be able to easily load Google fonts. I have Google API Key installed (no error messages).

I have loaded several google fonts and they show up as INSTALLED FONTS. But, when I select to use any of the newly added Google fonts, they do not show up in the front end. Everything looks like a Times Roman style.

I have had to resort to manually installing fonts, one by one. That is a tedious process when wanting to select a new font.

Is there something I am missing or neglecting to do? It appears to be a very simple, logical process to add google fonts, yet what I am doing doesn't work.
