Using Another Filesystem Within SP Page Builder

SP Page Builder 2 years ago

Hi, I have installed the following plugin https://github.com/akeeba/plg_filesystem_s3 that allows me to access the files I have in S3. Is it possible that I can select them from the media manager that brings by default the Page Builder?

Hi Xim,

Not by SPPB Media Manager, but you can use links from that plugin inside URL fields, just copy-paste path to file(s).

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your reply.

Not by SPPB Media Manager, but you can use links from that plugin inside URL fields, just copy-paste path to file(s).

This is how we have always done it.

But this message is more like a request to the "SPPB Media Manager". It would facilitate a lot the management if JoomShaper already takes into account the filesystem feature that is available since Joomla! 4.

It would also be nice to implement it in other extensions, e.g. LMS.

What do you think about implementing that feature, is it possible to scale it?

Thank you again.

I can't promise you that, we rather avoid integration with third-party extensions.

But this has nothing to do with third-party extensions. It's an abstraction that comes in the core of Joomla. It's agnostic to any third-party implementation, it's just about seeing how the com_media component in the core does it.

In the event that it cannot be done or is not considered interesting for your product... Could we discontinue the 'SPPB Media Manager' and use the native Joomla Media Manager in the Page Builder?

Your started topic with Akeeba plugin question, it means third-party extension, right?

For now, we have no such plans to use Media Manager from Joomla Core. But perhaps this will change one day, because actually MM from J4 and J5 has more features comparing to J3.

And Yes, I added your request to wish-list.

Forget the Akeeba plugin. I'm talking about a Joomla! Core feature: https://docs.joomla.org/J4.x:Cloud_File_Systems_for_Media_Manager/en.

What you are implying to me is that you are not even interested in raising the feature with the JoomShaper development team.

Anyway, thank you very much for attending the thread.
