Are you planning to modify the Video addon somehow so that the embedded youtube videos are not loaded unnecessarily? Make sure that the youtube player loads only when you click on the video or cover. Now 3 embedded videos on the page reduce the page loading speed by up to 27%.

Hi Dmitry,

  1. Please do not write in Russian language. Respect our Suport Policy.
  2. Those files are from Google (YouTube), if you are using clips from this source. And yes, more clips and then more files. It's not up to us, that's how this system is built from Google Embed Code.
  3. Maybe you can consider using different platform that can store / play clips.
  4. There is also alternative player on JED that uses different method, and loads YT files after somebody click Play, not before. First placeholder image is shown instead of the video. The visitor has to click to load the video. It may help a lot in Speed tests.

Your addon, it turns out, is incomplete if you suggest using an alternative from other developers. Refine it so that you can use your add-on and the page does not slow down due to loading a third-party player.

Hi Dmitry.

Just to let you know. To get the functionality that you request, you need to make a completely new addon, but not finalize the existing one. This is a completely different logic of work.

As an option. But the current addon, in fact, harms the site, which helps

I agree with you. Personally, I use JS code and RAW HTML addon(s) to get the behavior you are talking about

You can use anything and however you want. But in a particular case, there is a claim to the functionality of a particular addon.

If you would understend how it works, then you would have no complaints to the Video addon. I repeat, this is not possible to finalize, but need to create a completely new addon especially and only for YouTube video based on YouTube API JS but not on embed HTML. And not universal.

The only complaint about the addon is that it provides low-quality functionality. Remove youtube support and leave only the download of your video. And then it turns out to be a disservice, if we speak in a Russian proverb))

The situations in the development of the site are different. Often, customers want the YouTube player to display right away. Calling to delete YouTube support from Video Addon, you provide a disservice to many other SPPB users.

Therefore, your claims are not justified at all

And do you think providing functionality that obviously worsens the site's performance is a client-oriented approach?

Don't forgot about one more thing:

YouTube display ads, so it's possible that final user will see 1, 2 or 3 ads during watching a few minutes clip. Not all users, have AdBlock with correct settings.
