SPPB 5 Installation Deletes Modules

SP Page Builder 1 year ago

So with much trial and error I've realized that in order to upgrade to SPPB 5 one must uninstall the old SPPB otherwise SPPB 5 dosen't function properly, and Google Font API cannot be added, etc.

However, when the old SPPB is uninstalled, any modules created with it are deleted.

Is there a way to keep the modules after upgrade as some of my sites have many modules and it would be labor intensive to have to export every module and re-import it afterwards?

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out, and I apologize for any inconvenience caused by this oversight. Yes, If you uninstall your current version of Page Builder then module will be uninstall which was created before. You should keep a backup of your modules JSON files. Please provide me the Joomla administrator access to check the font issue.

Looks like I can export the database module tables, and then import them after installing the new SPPB 5 and the modules seem to work O.k.

Is Joomshaper definitly not upgrading the old SPPB builder to be compatible with Joomla 5?

I'm sure there are many other people who have a lot of sites they'd rather not have to go through all this work for.

There is no issue on upgrading. But, if you uninstall module then you should keep backup of your module JSON file.
