PageBuilder: Finally a German language file!

What has not yet been achieved has finally been accomplished. Matthias Singer from the Swiss portal web2use.ch has released the German language package for SP PageBuilder. This is certainly a huge help and relief for many, and the installation of Joomla is child's play. After that, backend and frontend editing is possible in German. I have installed it and have not found any errors so far. Everything is translated - simply great.

If you don't know web2use yet, you should also take a look at the YouTube channel. There are excellent videos on how to work with PageBuilder. A perfect workshop for beginners and professionals. But Joomla is not neglected either, and the videos make life easier. https://www.youtube.com/@web2use/videos

Hello!

Great, finally a complete German translation. I was very pleased.

Unfortunately, I just had to experience a setback. The German translation only works up to Pagebuilder Pro 5.2.7. As soon as you install a newer version of the page builder, the page builder no longer works. The error message appears:

Unhandeled Runtime Error TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'call') Please Open the Browser console for more information! Call stack | (2:1252884) 2447 (2:17590)

Function.| (2:1252884)

It's good that Joomshaper also offers older versions of the page builder. After I simply installed 5.2.7, everything works fine again. I have been able to understand this with two Joomla installations with Pagebuilder so far.

There seems to be a bug in the translation somewhere. I suspect that there is something new in the current page builder somewhere, for which the translation is missing in the German language file and the English word is then not automatically inserted. If the translation has to be adjusted with every update, that's no use.

I hope that Web2Use can fix this and provide a new language file as quickly as possible. Otherwise it hardly makes sense to use them.

greeting sven

Hi Sven,

  1. on test /new/ subdomain install clean Joomla 5.1 + SPPB 5.2.9 (5.3.0 soon)
  2. Upload language files
  3. Then test again
  4. This will tell us if all works or not

ABout error that you have, this may/should help: https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/sp-page-builder/troubleshooting#unhandled-runtime-error-typeerror-undefined-is-not-an-object-evaluating-i-e-call

Hello!

Thank you! It was actually a browser cache issue. You have to figure it out first, especially since 5.2.7 didn't throw the error.
