Pitech - Google Fonts And DSGVO / GDPR

The following section describes how Font Book can be used to prevent fonts from being loaded via Google Server: https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/sp-page-builder/google-fonts-and-dsgvo-gdpr However, we are unable to apply this method to Pitech template. If I use Google fonts in the template, e.g. Mulish, these are loaded via Google servers, even if the fonts are installed in Font Book. Of course, we have generated the Google Fonts API key and added it to the SP Page Builder settings area. Questions: Is it possible that Pitech is not compatible with Font Book? What do I have to do to use Google Fonts via Font Book without them being loaded via Google Server?

Hi Hans,

In general set custom fonts ones, for example using tip 29. from @Rashida 1-st link.

I know, using Custom CSS may look scary for some people - but many EU webmasters use that method for years, becuase of GDPR law in EU.

If you set font(s) for selected HTML tags, later you don't have to set them in SPPB becuase they will be used "above" that. Do you understand the concept now?

Thank you both for answering so quickly. Let me summarize:

Point 29: How to add Google Fonts manually Google Fonts are loaded from the Google server, not permitted in the EU according to DSGVO. It seems to be the same as if I use Google Fonts in " Templates: Styles (Site)" Template Options - Typography.

Point 30: How to use a custom font(s) The Google fonts are installed locally and are no longer loaded from the Google server, which is OK according to DSGVO.

Now one question remains: What is Font Book for? What is the point? As I understand it, Font Book is supposed to store the fonts locally in order to comply with the DSGVO. From the text: "With the Font Book option, you can easily add your Google Fonts loaded from your local hosting, not Google server, or upload your custom fonts. " https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/sp-page-builder/font-book Why can't Font Book do the job? What is the problem?

In big short, all fonts must be loaded or from server or server which is in your country or at least in EU country.

Point 30 - is a good direction 4 you.

About Font Book - as you may noticed its' for SPPB only. And to use it, you have to UPLOAD font by font into your site, so after all they can be used from your server only.

Font Book do the job, but only for areas where you use it, not whole template.

Thanks for the clarification. That is logical once you understand it.

The following points for comment: It would be useful to include a note in the documentation on Font Book and DSGVO that clearly points out the facts.

The question is also: Both products "Helix Template" and "Page Builder" are from Joomshaper. Why didn't Joomshaper develop the Font Book with the integration of the fonts for Helix instead of Page Builder?

My point of view From my point of view, Font Book makes very little sense in Page Builder. Who makes a complete website with Page Builder without a template? What is the benefit of Font Book?

Helix will get that feature as well, but in the future update, I talked about that with the team.

Thank you, Paul, for the clarification. You have a great roadmap at Joomshaper, besides great products and support.

Please add in bold here in the text that template fonts are not managed, so continue to violate the DSGVO and then also refer to Point 30: How to use a custom font(s)
