Hello,
I hope you take this feedback in the constructive spirit it’s intended, and I want to clarify that I’m not seeking a refund or any compensation. I fully understand that developing software is costly and demands extensive analysis and a dedicated development team to bring it to life.
After testing EasyStore, I believe it’s not yet ready to be recommended to clients for their production sites. There are two key features that are essential for any e-commerce application:
-
The ability to implement or develop plugins to integrate logistics companies for calculating shipping costs and handling fulfillment, much like how payment methods can be integrated.
-
The lack of integration with AWS S3 or similar services for managing assets such as images and videos. Currently, everything is stored in the local media manager, which limits the deployment of Joomla and Joomshaper solutions in distributed environments like Kubernetes, Swarm, or any other orchestration platform. This is also a limitation in SP PageBuilder, which is missing the File Systems feature available since Joomla 4.
EasyStore has significant potential; its frontend is exceptional, and its simplicity is very appealing. However, it’s frustrating to see that many responses in this forum are variations of: "I have added it as a feature request already" or "I will add it to our feature request list for our team to consider."
I propose, at the very least, that the EasyStore team share and publish the roadmap for upcoming features and their expected release dates. Alternatively, if policy restrictions prevent this and to avoid putting undue pressure on the development team, focus on making EasyStore highly extensible for developers. This would allow for custom integrations with third-party services, including payment and shipping methods, as well as external asset storage solutions like AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, DigitalOcean Spaces, etc.
Consider using the strategy pattern to enable third-party developers to contribute and enhance EasyStore’s capabilities.
In summary, I feel that the current pricing is high and the offering too limited to position EasyStore as a viable solution in an e-commerce world that increasingly relies on integration with numerous tools and platforms.
