Simple Protfolio Sorting By Date Doesn't Work

sp simple portfolio does not work sorting by date. Switching the mode-order ascending or order descending does not change anything. Sorting by title works. Where to find the error

There is no by default option to sort by date. Please go to this location: components/com_spsimpleportfolio/models and replace items.php file with the attached file. You need to unzip the file and then replace.
It will sort the items to the newest created to the oldest created.
