How Screwed Up Can A SP Pagebuilder Page Get?

Dear SPPB Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out because I’ve encountered a perplexing issue while working with SPPB. I've been using your platform for many years without problems, but recently, a background image has disappeared from a page I’ve modified several times in the past.

I am currently using SPPB 5.4.0 (and even reverted to 5.3.8 to test, but to no avail) along with PHP 8.3. Typically, I work on Chrome, but I’ve also tested the page in Chrome Incognito and Edge, and the issue persists.

The specific problem occurred after I copied a row containing three columns with image tiles (linked), and a background image with a 50% overlay. I only made slight adjustments, such as editing the links on the tiles and updating the header of the row. However, instead of displaying the background image and its overlay in the copied row, all I see is a white background.

I’ve attempted various troubleshooting steps, including exporting and importing the page into a new instance and disabling other rows (thinking the page might be too long), but nothing has worked. The issue remains unresolved.

The affected section is located under the heading mannastories.co.za on this page: https://jfbventures.co.za/test.

I would greatly appreciate any insights or solutions you may have for resolving this issue.

Kind regards,

Francois

OK, I got to the bottom of this.

SPPB's "row copy function" DOES NOT WORK. At least not in the back-end editor where I do all my work.

It used to work and I used it a lot, but it is now malfunctioning. It would not copy the row's background image and overlay parameters, and even if you try to change the background image and overlay colour parameters, it does not work. The row copy function breaks that row that it is irreparable.

To fix the problem I created a row at the top and inserted the background image and overlay colour parameters. I added a text block just to have content and saved the page. I test the page and the new row displayed correctly.

I then had to go through the tedious task of moving this row way down to its correct position, removed the text block I tested with and moved the elements of the broken row to the new row. I removed the broken row and saved the page. It displayed correctly.

I have not had any feedback on it? I see you have not as yet logged into the account.
