SP Page Builder 10 months ago

Hi everyone.

Found information on the internet that Hikashop works with SP page builder. Question. How do I customise the look and feel of the site with Hikashop? In SP Page Builder itself I can't find an option to customise the display as in Easy Store - Storefront and Simple. Please advise how I can customise the appearance, template, style etc.

What other e-commerce systems work with SP page builder?

Thank you

Ciao Vitalii,

In internet you can find almost anything, unfortunately, a great many things are wrong (for various reasons).

SP Page Builder is for create subpages, also with HikaShop modules on it, but SPPB cannot be used inside HS Product description field! And there are no SPPB addon(s) for HikaShop views.

We created our own EasyStore that is from beginning based on SPPB addons, that's why full integration was planned since day one.

To customzie HikaShop shop view you need CSS skills and a thorough knowledge of what and how HikaShop works, override skills. If you're beginner, it will take you many days. It's better to hire a Expert, really!

About EasyStore - you can use (purchse first) one of our templates thay have built-in design and demo data.

https://www.joomshaper.com/joomla-templates/category/ecommerce

Those 9 templates are already EasyStore & SPPB based

It is the photos and descriptions that make the store, the look can always be refined later.

Hello Paul,

Thank you for your responses.
The first response is accepted. The second one, with some reservations. After exploring various systems, I chose Joomla and specifically EasyStore. However, after purchasing the license and starting to set up the store, I find myself encountering more and more questions and limitations in implementing my ideas each day. Even something as seemingly straightforward as migrating a store from OpenCart to EasyStore has proven to be a significant challenge.

The most important factor for me is the functionality that is already available, not something planned for an uncertain future, as I’ve already received several such answers from support. It’s a different matter with HikaShop or VirtueMart. Yes, I agree that those require more effort on the visual side, but that’s a smaller issue compared to the advertised multilingual support in EasyStore, which is only partially implemented.

I’m genuinely sorry this is the case, although I understand that not everything can be done immediately. I’ve already tested several systems, and I truly like EasyStore. However, with every hurdle I encounter in implementing specific solutions and receiving the response, “It will be implemented in the future,” I feel disappointed and disheartened.

Best regards

In general, something else is using OpenCart or Prestashop that is only shop platform, and something else using CMS Joomla + Shop component. Each solution has its pros and cons. Our EasyStore is still a new product, we still improving it, adding new features, fixing bugs. Many features are planned for next weeks or months. New products are developing along with customers needs. Which is a normal process in the software world.

The time of development of an extension has a colossal impact on how much functionality a extension has, the older the product the more it offers. But on the other hand, not everyone needs 200+ switches & options to be lost inside it.

HikaShop to the most advanced shop component, with tons features mostly in paid versions. VM - I don't recommend it.

The most important questions are :

  • what products you intend to sell today and next weeks, months?
  • Whether the store solution has already payment gate (plugin) for your country.

Hey Paul, thanks for the ‘healthy’ dialogue.

I realise that every decision has its pros and cons. And I understand that the more pros, the more likely a paid solution will be and most likely as expensive as possible within the framework of healthy competition. We are not talking about our own product and development team. Your solution is very interesting, given that it is an extension of Joomla, which I consider in my personal opinion the best CMS of all free or conditionally free. Easy Shop itself is very appealing to me and I weighed the pros and cons before purchasing a licence. However, I did not expect that the worm lies very deep in the nuances. At the moment - it is not a full-fledged multi-linguality of all that is, there are no links of languages as in joomla by default. I've already looked through other discussions and one way or another I join or understand that it is possible to tolerate some inconveniences, as I myself am engaged in the development of projects and understand that not everything is done at once. But for myself today I see the problem in the limitation of multilingualism because of which I have to stop completely and look for a convenient solution to go forward and wait for your updates and improvements. Moreover, I am even willing to dive into the code myself and make corrections. In any case, it will be overwritten during updates, so there’s no need to worry about that. However, the problem is that even manually fixing the code won’t achieve the desired outcome. In such a case, the purpose of purchasing a license and using your extension is lost entirely. The questions you posed at the end are not of much importance to me, as I already know the solution and way out for myself, even though it’s only a temporary one.

If these questions are meant for you and your team to consider for the product's development, then the answers are as follows:

  1. It would be at least good to have the ability to use old templates for the online store, such as Mega Deal or Mega Deal 2 for Joomla 4&5. And if these templates could be adapted for pharmaceutical or health-related products, that would be absolutely ideal.
  2. A payment gateway for Monobank would also be ideal, even though it only works for one country—Ukraine. Whether it’s important for the product to include a local gateway is up to you to decide.

After all, you do have documentation on how to add a gateway yourself using a plugin template. I consider this an excellent solution for such local payments. That’s why I mentioned earlier that, in general, a solution can be found if there’s a willingness to find one. 😊

Hey Paul =) https://www.joomshaper.com/joomla-templates/organic-life I found this template and I'm wondering. Why aren't templates updated for newer versions of Joomla? Yes, I understand that it's a lot of work, and time is always short, but this way it only limits the use of the template? Just like Easy Store can't be installed on this template. And is there any point in considering this kind of solution?

Sorry Paul, I've now figured out the difference and nuances of not matching old templates and joomla 4&5 version. No more questions. Thank you for the dialogue

Older templates may not work with new Joomla, it's better to use a new ones.
