Video Add On Not Working With Usercentrics Cookie Banner

If you use the Usercentrics cookie banner together with the video add-on in the SP Page Builder, the message that you must first accept YouTube is correctly displayed before accepting the YouTube service.

If you accept the YouTube service, the notice disappears, but the video is still not displayed. Only a gray box is displayed.

If you embed the video using a raw HTML add-on and an iFrame, it works normally.

Hi,

of corse, here are the screenshots.

This is the message that is displayed correctly if you have not yet accepted YouTube:

After accepting, the message disappears, but unfortunately the video is not displayed (only the grey box):

If you look at the code, you can see that the body inside the YouTube iFrame is empty:

I hope this helps you to understand and solve the problem. Best Regards!

Hi

Could you please keep a full site backup and recreate this video portion? Maybe you need to change your video paths.

What exactly do you mean by "recreate this video portion"? Create a new Page Builder Page with this video addon?

Yes, you can check it by creating a new one.

Sorry for the late reply, but I was out of the office for 3 weeks.

Unfortunately, the problem with the video addon also occurs with a completely new Page Builder page: https://wb-dentalservice.de/videotest

I have updated to Joomla 4.4.11 and Page Builder Pro 5.5.2. Then I deleted the test page and recreated it, but the video remains grayed out here as well:

The Problem still remains. Do you have any further suggestions? Can someone fix that?

Thanks and regards!

Hi Mike,

as you noticed we used classic iframe code from Google, nothing fancy. So I suggest to contact with cookie extension developer and ask it why it happends! We can improve something, but we must have information (feedback) from the developer of this solution.

What I've seen so far with other cookies modules (different developers) no problems, all works as it should, without any extra settings. I also talk about popular GDPR extension that is used by many webmasters (also on our forum).

The final thought.... in Video addon (SPPB 5) there is option "Turn Off Youtube Cookie" On/Off - check if using that setting with change anything. After that test site using 2-3 different browsers, also in Privacy Mode (CTRL+Shift+P in Firefox).

We have solved this by replacing the video addons with HTML addons in which we have embedded the videos directly.
