Attention - Most Recent Updates On Helix Ultimate And PageBuilder Cause Php Errors

SP Page Builder 8 months ago

Hi folks, I just opened my Joomla Backend and saw that updates were offered for Helix and Page Builder. I let them install and they installed seemingly without errors. However, when then trying to open pages on my website I get errors after errors that ..../site.php has errors in different lines. I then made a restore and only tried the update from PageBuilder 5.5.1 to 5.5.2 and ... it smashes PHP! php version on my server is 8.2.23

Currently, I am restoring backups again.

Can somebody help me with further information about these troubles?

Hi Susanne,

Sorry to hear about the trouble! It looks like the latest updates may have compatibility issues with PHP 8.2.23. To assist you better, could you provide the exact error messages from your logs? That will help pinpoint the issue.

Additionally, if you’re comfortable, please share temporary administrator access in the hidden content section so I can take a closer look. Before proceeding, make sure you take a full backup of your site.

In the meantime, here are a few things you can try:

  1. Enable Debug Mode – This may provide more detailed error messages.
  2. Disable SP Page Builder – Check if the issue persists after disabling the extension.
  3. Test with PHP 8.1 – If possible, try rolling back to PHP 8.1 to see if compatibility improves.
  4. Check for Extension Conflicts – Other extensions might not be compatible with the latest updates.

Let me know once you’ve shared access, and I’ll be happy to investigate further!

Best Regards,

Dear Ziaul, Many thanks for your fast reply. However, as it is a live website, I cannot play around with its settings and risk its accessibility for unexpected duration. Maybe I can check log files, if you tell me which of those might be helpful for you to investigate the reasons of the trouble. We cannot switch back the PHP version and the current version works fine with Pagebuilder 5.5.1. We run this PageBuilder 5.5.1 on Joomla 3.10.12 not Joomla 5.x Maybe this gives you some more important background information. Best regards

Could you please share temporary administrator access to your Joomla backend? You can provide the credentials securely in the hidden content section. Also, please take a full backup of your site before we make any changes.

Once I have access, I’ll investigate further and see what’s causing the issue. Let me know once you’ve shared the details!

Best Regards,

Dear Ziaul, I highly appreciate your kind offer to directly access the system. Before setting up such another admin account I am sending the detailled message of the error that is shown when PageBuilder upgrading from 5.5.1 to 5.5.2 in Joomla 3.10.12 see below in hidden content

Best regards Susanne
