SP Page Builder 7 months ago

Hello, I am trying to replicate the Joomla upgrade process I did some weeks ago from a version 3.10 installation, but I don't remember how to upgrade the installed version of SP Page Builder that is currently in version 3.6.4. so I was wondering if you could tell me what is the next version that I should install to avoid problems.

Thanks for contacting us and sorry for your issue. You can find SPPB 3.8.10 from here:

https://www.joomshaper.com/downloads/extension

Scroll down and check.

NOTE: Please make sure you have a full site backup before making any changes.

Thank you! I managed to finish the upgrade but Joomla is now showing this error message "0 Cannot access protected property Joomla\CMS\Menu\MenuItem::$params" that I think is related to a template

Yes, in most cases it's caused by template code.

Turn on Debug Mode and Showing Errors to Maximum (in Global Configuration) to see what file causes that.

In Joomla 3.x max_errors.png

In Joomla 4/5

After the upgrade to Joomla 4.4 I tried to upgrade SP Page builder to the last version and now I am receiving this error message in the Joomla administrator Failed opening required '/var/www/b2c860e9-ea1e-4e13-80d0-efc3fe083eda/public_html/components/com_sppagebuilder/builder/classes/base.php' (include_path='.:/opt/ecp-php82/lib/php')

Do you think the template I am currenly using may be a problem? According to this URL https://www.joomshaper.com/joomla-templates/educon the latest version of the Educon template is 4.0.2 and the one that I have installed is 2.7 Note: When I change the default template to Cassiopeia the number of error messages is reduced.

BTW how can I do to upgrade SP Pagebuilder (version 3.8.10) and Helix3 (version 3.0.5) from this point (Joomla 4.4.11)?

I could upgrade Joomla from version 4.4.11 to 5.2.4 while having version 3.8 of sppagebuilder installed and it worked, however I couldn't upgrade it from that point.

No, as you can read in SPPB documenation, v3.8 will not work in J5 (!)

About errors messages you had , in general it was caused by using old Template version. But I don't understand why you kept old versions of almost everything using Joomla 4.x !? And using <table> for content grid in header, horrible idea in 2025. No comments :/

Updated & Fixed. All works, no errors.

I understand your point about the old versions installed. That is why I am trying to upgrade everything now. The installation was previously in Joomla 3.8!!!

The problem lies in the fact that for some reason you did not do it regularly, such as every 2-3 months. And now after over a year you woke up.

For problematic pages use built-in tool in back-end editor first (!)

info_2701_2025.jpg

Then save page.

You can also check page in Admin (Back-end) Editor and check which addon makes the mess.

The <Check Content> option didn't work but it seems like I can edit the content of the page from the Backend Editor https://prnt.sc/K4IM9wu_eMpD, but I still can't see the headers and the footer. Do you think I could use this view as a template to remake the page in the frontend editor of the new version of the sp Page Builder?

I have already started creating pages in the new version of SP Page Builder using the backend editor, trying to copy part of the content from the old pages, but when I try to preview, I get this error message: "0 Object of class stdClass could not be converted to string"
