Article Scroller Show DatePublished Not DateCreated

Hello everyone,

I use the article scroller to display a list of upcoming events. I would like the articles to display the creation date, not the publication date.

If I adjust the publication date to the actual event, it isn't visible beforehand.

It's controlled via site.php, but I can't find the variable that passes the created date to overwrite the publish_up variable.

Of course, I'll add an override to the whole thing so it doesn't disappear again on the next update.

Thanks for the help.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out, and apologies for the inconvenience.

Please note that customizations fall outside of our official support policies. However, as a courtesy, I’d like to help you get started in the right direction.

You can begin by locating the relevant file inside the hidden content directory. The modification you’re looking to make involves overriding the default behavior to use the article’s creation date instead of the publish date.

To properly override an SP Page Builder addon, we recommend reviewing the official documentation here: SP Page Builder Addon Override Guide.

Let us know if you need further assistance with the process.

Best regards
