SPPB Dynamic Content: How To Combine Dynamic Content Image And URL Fields To Make Image A Link To The URL

SP Page Builder 6 months ago

Using SP Page Builder 5.5.2 Dynamic Content. The dynamic content item consist of two (custom) fields:

  • an image
  • an link (URL)

I want to show the images on an SP PB page using dynamic content add on. This works except that I don't have a clue if it is possible to make the image a clickable link to the URL dynamic content field

I know I can add a dynamic content text field for the URL, but this is shown either above or below the image. I don't want the link URL to be seen as text, but only used as link that "embeds" the image.

It this feasilbe at all?

This page shows the images of the dynamic content after heading "Sponsoren & Gönner": https://dev.mettmi2026.ch/sponsoring/unsere-sponsoren The dynamic content currently has 7 items

Hello Peter Hunkeler,

Thank you for reaching out to our technical support forum. I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you’re experiencing. Clickable image option is not available. I will talk with the developer team about it. If they find it useful, then we might introduce it on the new version.

You can use Rich Text or Text Box Option to add a clickable image for now.

Thanks a lot for the quick answer. I think I'll use a rich text field for the time being.

The drawback is I need to keep in mind to make the image also a link each time I add a new item. If the Image option would support this directly, it would be more obvious, and thus less error prone.

Yes, direct option to link from Image type item would be better. I have already informed the team about your suggestion. Hopefully, they will work on it. However, please do not expect it on the next update. The development for the next release is almost done and no new feature request will be taken now. So, it will be looked after the next update.

Hi Ofi,

where exactly do you place the source code shown in the second image?

Thank you!
