SP Page Builder 3 months ago

Hi, I recently updated one of our cms's to the latest joomla and also updated the sp page builder extension from 5.1.6 to 5.6.1. When i did this i started to recieve the following error when attempting to open the page builder 0 Call to undefined method SppagebuilderHelper::loadEditor() As we needed to use the page builder i restore to a previous backup, updated joomla but did not update the extension. Could you look into why this may be happening and how to prevent it as I do not want to update again without knowing it will not return the same error.

Thank you for your message, and I’m glad to hear the issue is now resolved.

The problem was caused by an override of the SP Page Builder backend that was present in your administrator template. This override was based on an older version of SP Page Builder and was not fully compatible with the current version, which led to the issue you experienced.

To resolve it, I simply removed the outdated override from the administrator template. This restored the default backend functionality of SP Page Builder and resolved the issue.

If you encounter a similar issue in the future, checking and removing any outdated overrides related to SP Page Builder from your administrator template should help.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need further assistance.

Please marked the issue as solved

Hello Tom,

Sorry for the inconvenience you're experiencing. It appears the issue is being caused by a template override.

Could you please check if you have the following directory: JRoot/administrator/templates/Your_Template/html/com_sppagebuilder? If it exists, try removing it. Alternatively, if you'd prefer to keep the override, please contact the developer who built the site for you.

Please note that this error is not originating from the core SP Page Builder itself, but rather from an override of the SP Page Builder component.

Best regards
