Dynamic Content Filter Addon

I want to use the dynamic content filter addon for the following situation. I have the idea it is not possible, but mayvbe I am doing something wrong. I want to make a list of Virtual Reality games people can play at my venue and I want to let them choose which games are good for them. I have the following information per game:

  • name
  • difficulty (1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 stars)
  • category (can be multiple)
  • language (can be multiple)
  • sort of groups suitable for (can be multiple)

I guess the problem is in the multiple. For example language can be Dutch, English, German and French. Some games offer all these languages. So what to do if people click English (if possible). I want to show people all games available in English, even if the game is also available in other languages. This seems to be an OR / AND problem. So I would have to choose if I want this filter to be AND (only select if the game has ALL the selected languages) or OR (select if the game has ANY of the selected languages).

Please tell me if this is already possible and if not if this is planned to integrate in the future.

Thank you for your detailed explanation, and please accept our apologies for the delayed response due to the weekend.

You are absolutely right — at this time, it is not possible to achieve the filtering behavior you're aiming for using the Dynamic Content Filter feature. Currently, the system does not support filtering for multi-value fields (such as languages, categories, or group types) in the way you described.

We do plan to implement multi-value support in future updates so that one item can be tagged with several values. However, regarding "OR" filtering — where results are shown if any of the selected values match — this is currently not planned. The reason is not technical complexity, but rather that "OR" logic is rarely practical in real-world filtering use cases.

When users select multiple filters (e.g., English or German or French), an OR filter can produce overly broad results that may feel irrelevant or overwhelming. It often leads to poor user experience because the filtering becomes too loose, especially when combined with other filter types like category or difficulty. Most users expect filters to narrow results down, not broaden them.

That said, I’ve forwarded your request to our internal feature list for review. The final decision will be up to our development and management teams, based on overall demand and practicality across different projects.

We truly value your input — thank you for sharing your use case.
