When adding a pdf download to a Dynamic Content Detail Page, only the URL of the file is displayed using the Dyanmic Text add-on. media/attachments/2025/08/28/presentation.pdf

How can I modify the URL text to something professional like "Download Presentation."

It seems like this fuctionality is missing, or should be more intuative.

This feature is currently not available, but I’ve added it to our feature request list. I hope it will be implemented in the future. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to us. Could you please share temporary administrator access to your Joomla backend? You can provide the credentials securely in the hidden content section. Also, please take a full backup of your site before we make any changes.

Once I have access, I’ll investigate further and see what’s causing the issue. Let me know once you’ve shared the details!

Best regards,

Unfortunately, I have too many layers of security.

Can you just explain the steps for adding a file properly to a Dynamics Content page?

When adding a Dynamic Link to a page, there is a field to modify the Link Text.

When adding a Dynamic File to a page, there is no field to adjust the Link Text for the file.

Using Dynamic Text to display files feels like a hack. There should be a Dynamic Files add-on to choose from that is specific to files. Please tell your Devs to create this and make it much easier handling files.

NOTE: Default Text is only if the field is empty, not the name of the file!

Good afternoon. I'm struggling also with this.

What did I found out to make it work:

In the "general settings" of the dynamic text, you have 2 options:

  1. in the "link" tab, you enter the "media/attachments/......" link to the file, which you see on the screen. And then you can tick the option to open it in a new tab

  2. in the "General" tab, you turn on the "downloadable", and in the box under it, you put the text like "download presentation". if it is a .pdf for example, acrobat (when used by default) will open.

either way, how to store the files is stupid, because if there is an update of the files like a manual, it always created folders "years/month/day", so you can have several manuals of the same product on your server. the files should have their own folder, where you can select them.
