Hi,

in una colIn a column, it's impossible to set the margin or padding for mobile views without first making a change (even a fictitious one) to the padding or margin for laptop views. Is it possible to fix this bug, which also occurs in other page builder settings?onna è impossibile

Hello Michelangelo, this behavior is perfectly normal for applications like the page builder. It prevents automatic CSS generation from generating empty default values or unexpected styles that could affect the layout on different devices. Therefore, I wouldn't call it a bug it is a program-side rule and does not need to be corrected.

Regards, Robert

Hi,

In the previous one there were some broken words from the translation from italian to english using google translate. here is the correct text:

In a column, it's impossible to set the margin or padding for mobile views without first making a change (even a fictitious one) to the padding or margin for laptop views. Is it possible to fix this bug, which also occurs in other page builder settings?

Hi, the problem is on my local site, so I have no public URL.

I don't know why, but I cannot upload any image so I describe the problem here:

If I select a column with no margin (or padding) set for "laptop," I can't set the margin (or padding) for other screen resolutions (e.g. "mobile") until I change the "laptop" margin first. It seems that to enter margin (or padding) settings for other resolutions (e.g., "mobile"), I first need to "unlock" them by entering values in the "laptop" view.

I think you can simulate this situation in a short time.

If you need a screenshot or better a shot video, please tell me how to share it to you.

Thank you

Hi,

excuse me, but I really think that you can easly test the problem on any of your installation.

There are few simple steps: 1 - create a section in which there is a column 2 - select the column, on the right in the "spacing" box for "margin" select "mobile portrait" 3 - try to insert, for example, 30px for margin top: you'll see that it won't work 4 - for margin, now select "laptop" again and set anything you want (also writing "aaa") in margin top 5 - go back to "mobile portrait" and now it is correctly editable

Unfortunately, once I'll put the site on line, it will be complete and I'll not need that you fix the bug anymore.

Thank you

hi,

I'm sorry but I don't understand. When you say "Its ok in my end" does it means that in your installation you do not have the problem?

Hello Michelangelo, the behavior you describe is understandable and exactly as you described it. However, i think this is not a bug in the page builder, but rather a program-based rule for the systematic construction of the CSS structure in SP Page Builder. It serves to ensure the consistency and maintainability of responsive design. In the standard workflow, the system requires laptop settings as the basis for further responsiveness levels. Therefore, you must first set the rule for laptops if you also want to set it for mobile :)

Hi Robert,

thank you for your answer. So, you say that this will not be fixed or (if it is not a bug) will not be improved?

Thank you.

Hi Michelangelo,

Robert is absolutely right, it's actually not a bug. If you want it to be like your way, you can set it using custom CSS.
