Dynamic Content From The Database - Future Feature?

Is there a plan to be able to select a database table (ie: users, content, etc...) as a source in dynamic content? It would be great if I could create a collection by selecting a table rather than only importing JSON or creating items one at a time.

Another option, possibly much simpler, would be to allow a URL as the source of JSON. That way, I could create my own API to populate collections from sources like AWS S3 buckets.
