Turning On, Then Off Coming Soon Causes Redirect Error

Hi, I'm using stratos template and found that turning on the coming soon function worked but when I turn it off again I get this:

The page isn’t redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

I've flushed caches and tried multiple browsers.

Hi Kerry,

My advices are simple:

  1. Don’t use the Coming Soon feature. If you really need to disable the site for an hour or a day, simply enable Offline mode in Global Configuration.
  2. Disable Preloader in Template Options, Google don't like it and sometimes cause problems in browsers!
  3. EasyBlog component has many useful features for Blog, but it's heavy as wood pile (log). Slown down any site.

Follow the KISS rule, and a webmaster’s life will be much simpler.

Thanks Paul,

  1. OK, won't use it but the global config option uses the template black screen and you can't see anything which is why I went to the coming soon option. Fix?
  2. Was already set to off.
  3. Agreed. Recommended option?

ad 1) you can delete offline.php file from template folder, then Joomla will be use orginal classic file.

ad 3) Joomla Articles! Why? becuase each Joomla update it will work better, and you don't have to pay for extra component. In Helix tab "Blog Option" you can upload image add ALT.
