Can I Use SVG For Icons?

Hello, I'm using the new SP Page Builder 6 and I'm wondering if there is a way to use an SVG for an icon instead of having to use an external platform to convert it to a font.

If I already have a bunch of SVG files that I want to use as icons, it would be great to allow the option to place one of those anywhere you can insert an icon when building content.
