Issue With Installing And Running SP Builder

SP Page Builder 1 week ago

Hi Folks,

Am updating an older site that has a lot of blog posts out of J3.10.12 up to J5. No problem installing the template but when I try to install 6.2 of SP Builder I get an error I emailed you about. I reverted to installing 5.4 then 5.7.0 and it goes in fine but then throws a 500 error on load.

The site is pretty old with a YooTheme template, running in PHP7.4, moving to dump K2 etc (hence pushing the client to finally do this upgrade). No errors come up when debug or error reporting are turned on.

Just wondering if you could assist me to get the builder working?

Apologies for the inconvenience. Please refer to our technical documentation regarding SP Page Builder requirements: SP Page Builder Technical Requirements. Ensure that your Joomla installation and server environment fully meet these requirements, including PHP version, extensions, and other configurations. Meeting these specifications is essential for proper installation and functionality of SP Page Builder.

If your environment meets all the requirements and you still experience the issue, please let me know, and I will investigate further.

Ok, so it seems I'll need to just update with the template only, get it all to J4+ and then can shift PHP up and then start to add the builder from there.

Can you please let me know if there is a version of SP PB that will run on the old 3.10 site along with the theme so I can do some building on a live site before migrating. It seems just the Rhino template itself will not display any visual performance or CSS just installed by itself so I am trying to find a solution to make things a little seamless as I upgrade. At this point I'm so over Joomla's awful time intensive upgrade mess.

Use SP Page Builder 5.4.6

Have done that and it loads, though some 403 error in saving likely caused by the securitycheck plugin or other.

Can you please help me understand why when the theme is activated it fails to load any CSS properly? Not sure what I am missing here (link in hidden content)...

Have managed to make a copy of site, stripped it back and pushed through to Joomla 5.

Everything for JS is installed and running fine, but I am struggling to know what to do still to get the CSS to render and load proper menus, structure and formatting as per the link below.

I just installed the theme and Builder, but am I missing some other extension or setting? I have been using Joomla and Wordpress since 2007 and the way it is all setup with your systems feels clear and straightforward, but I cannot figure out what I am missing.

Could you please take a quick look and let me know what I might be missing?

Apologies for the inconvenience.

Based on the symptoms you are describing, this is most likely related to a module assignment issue rather than a missing extension. Please check whether there is any module published in the menu position that does not belong to the current template or builder setup.

As a first step, I recommend temporarily unpublishing any custom or legacy menu modules that are assigned to the menu position and then clearing the cache. In many cases, a conflicting or outdated module can prevent the template CSS and menu structure from rendering correctly.

Once the conflicting module is disabled, the menus and overall layout should load as expected. If the issue persists after this, please let us know and we can review it further.

Thanks so much Atick!

Just hid all the old modules and that cleaned things up a whole lot.

Almost there, only other issue I cannot figure out is that when I create a page and attach it to a menu item to replace a Joomla article it is putting the title of a page top left and pushing the logo and the menu item to the right. Even if I hide the page title, it continues to push the menus and logo right and I am not sure how to get the proper spacing to push the page content down below. Just wondering what I might be missing regarding positions and spacing?

Hi,

To better understand and diagnose the issue, could you please share a short screen recording showing the behavior you’re experiencing? This will help us identify what’s causing the layout shift and advise you accurately.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Kind regards

Please add the following CSS code to your Template Options -> Custom Code -> Custom CSS
