Tablet-specific Rows Cannot Be Edited – Desktop Row Always Selected

SP Page Builder 1 month ago

Hello,

I created three separate rows for Desktop, Tablet and Mobile and controlled their visibility correctly via Responsive → Visibility settings.

However, in the Page Builder editor (Tablet viewport), SP Page Builder always opens and edits the Desktop row, even though the Desktop row is hidden for tablet.

Even when I select the Tablet row directly from the Layers panel, the editor still shows the Desktop row settings.

Structure:

Section → Column → – Row Image Desktop – Row Image Tablet – Row Image Mobile

All visibility settings are configured correctly.

It seems that SP Page Builder always prioritizes the Desktop row in the editor, even when it should be hidden for tablet devices.

This makes it impossible to properly edit device-specific rows.

Could you please check if this is a bug related to row selection or responsive visibility handling in the editor?

Thank you very much.

As you can see on the screen, I've created three rows to better control the header photo. I've adjusted the visibility settings for different devices. Unfortunately, the desktop view always takes precedence, even when I'm editing on a tablet.

I think I got your issue. Unfortunately, it will always open on the desktop first. Generally, people edit on desktops. This is why it has been prioritized.

Hi, it's not about which device I'm using to edit something. I also think most users create/edit their pages on a desktop PC. My problem concerns the three editors offered with the Page Builder: Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile. I've created three ROWs (in the "Layers View"). ROW-Mobile works perfectly (visibility only on mobile devices), and ROW-Desktop also works (visibility only on desktop devices). Now for the problem child: ROW-Tablet. As soon as I start editing with the Tablet editor, Page Builder activates ROW-Desktop! Why? I explicitly didn't want ROW-Desktop to appear in the Tablet editor. I think this is a bug.

Regards, Thomas
