Hi

I use helix ultimate with own 404-page, I created a 404-page in sp pagebuilder and linked it to menu 404-page. Everything is working fine, but status now is 200 and not 404. How can I change this, it is urgent for SEO

Thank You

Hello,

I hope you’re doing well. I’m sorry for the experience you’ve had so far.

To look into this issue more closely, could you please share temporary Super Admin access (inside the hidden content box)? I’ll check this and update you as soon as possible.

Please make sure to keep a full site backup before sharing the credentials, just to be safe.

Best regards,

Hi,

Sorry for not being there for a while.

I'm checking your backend. There are updates pending for Helix Ultimate and others. Is this intentional?

Can I take a backup of your site?

However, it turns out that, the issue occurs because the 404 page is linked via a menu item. Menu items in Joomla always return HTTP 200. In Joomla 5, 404 pages must be handled via the template (error.php). To get a proper 404 status, remove the menu item and use Helix Ultimate’s error.php instead. This will return the correct HTTP 404 status and resolve the SEO issue.

Best regards,

Hi, thank you, I did the update right now.

But how can I build the 404-site in error.php in the same look as my current 404-page? This is what my customer wants.

I found this blog: https://www.joomshaper.com/blog/create-a-custom-joomla-404-page-with-sp-page-builder

Is it possible to copy and paste the code to error.php from sp pagebuilder?
