Random Glitches/bugs In SPPB 6

Hello

Wanted to bring to your attention an issue Ive been encountering since SPPB 5+ has released, and havent until now b/c I dont know how to prove/reproduce the issue..but here's nothing.

Sometimes, I will make changes to an addon on a page and save the changes, and those same changes will get applied to a simliar add ons on the same page, even though I never edited the add ons. For example, I had 4 Feature Box addons where I changed the column heights and background colors, saved the changes and they updated properly..but then looking further on the page, other Feature Box addons in a different row ended up inheriting the same edits, even though I never touched them. Again, Ive seen this happen intermittenly, multiple times since V5 has come out. I dont know how to reproduce and show screenshot/video..because it happens randomly. Just wanted to bring that to your attention..as this causes huge headaches and undesirable/unpredictable behavior. Let me know if you need further details I guess..Ill try my best to provide more insight, if possible.

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out, and I apologize for any inconvenience caused by this oversight. To better address the issue, could you kindly provide Joomla administrator access? This will enable me to thoroughly investigate the matter and provide you with a prompt resolution.

I appreciate your cooperation and will ensure to get back to you as soon as possible.

Best regards,

Toufiqur Rahman (Team Lead, Support)

Hello

What exactly would you be investigating? Again, you cant duplicate the issue whenever you want..it just happens randomly.

The same functionality works correctly on our side, which is why I mentioned it earlier. Without investigating your site directly, it's difficult to provide a solution. I can share our staging environment so you can reproduce the issue from your end and verify.

Ok thanks for the idea...but I just dont have the time or patience to tinker with your staging install.

If this happens on my end again, I will follow up w/ my credentials so you can take a look at the instance on the page.

Ok perfect timing. Im including the URL and creds in HC. This is for the page Home - Default

Summary:

  1. I adjusted the Column Height settings for the 3 columns in the row labeled "Services"
  2. After saving the settings, I refreshed the page and now the Column Height settings in the row labeled "Service Areas" now randomly inherited the same Height settings as the Services row. (only for the 2 bottom rows w/ 50% width).

I havent touched anything else within the settings, so I cant provide any more details really...I hope that is enough for you to investigate. I will suspend making any changes until you have taken a look. Thank you.

Could you please describe in detail, what fix or change you implemented? Like I said, this issue has happened across many different sites...Id like to know a permanent fix to whatever bug causing this. BTW, Im still seeing the random height values in the Service Area rows. I am going to remove those values so I can continue on my project. Please advise from here. thanks

I just added white background on your column settings.

Why would you do that? I never authorized you to make any changes to my SPPB settings. I was afraid to create this support question for this very reason. Can anyone in your department troubleshoot this issue, or am I at a dead end?

THE CHANGES YOU MADE DIDNT FIX THE ISSUE.

Please go read my original post...your software has a glitch or bug..you making chnages in the settings doesnt fix that.

Unless you want to troubleshoot the root of the problem..Im not interested in going back and forth any more

Yes, I have identified the issue with the column option height. I will forward this to our development team and keep you updated. Thanks.
