Joomla Articles Build With SP Page Builder Integration...

SP Page Builder 1 month ago

Hi.

I'm testing the dynamic content options for native Joomla articles. This works perfectly! But when I crwate a new article using SP Page Builder it does not work as expected via dynamic content.

Please have a look at the following test page (sorry all Dutch): https://staging.pgheusden.nl/index.php?option=com_sppagebuilder&view=page&id=3

This is the dynamic article index page. Two top articles are plain Joomla articles. The bottom item is an article made with SP Page Builder (this one is not using the Dynamic detail page). Is this a bug or by design?

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to us. Could you please share temporary administrator access to your Joomla backend? You can provide the credentials securely in the hidden content section. Also, please take a full backup of your site before we make any changes.

Once I have access, I’ll investigate further and see what’s causing the issue. Let me know once you’ve shared the details!

Best regards,

Hello,

When creating an article with SP Page Builder, please follow these steps:

  1. First, add some content using the Joomla default editor.
  2. Save the article.
  3. Then switch the editor to SP Page Builder and continue editing.

This process should resolve the issue you are experiencing.

Thanks,

Hi Ziaul,

Thanks for the quick support.

However this reads like a workaround... not something I would suggest to the end-user who needs to maintain the website. Will this always be necessary or will it be resolved in later versions?

Hello,

This is how Joomla works: when you select the Joomla editor and edit an article, you will see a red dotted line in the content area. Any text pasted above the red dotted line will be treated as the intro text.

Either you use joomla editor or sp page builder.

Thank you.

Hi Ziaul,

Totally clear. But I tested the method you mentioned and it still does not work in conjunction with the dynamic article option in SPPB. So for dynamic articles to fully work with SPPB you need to use the conventional Joomla articles. For now that is good to know.

Thanks again for your time and great support.

No problem. I've created a specific article in English 'Test article SPPB' on this page: https://staging.pgheusden.nl/index.php?option=com_sppagebuilder&view=page&id=3

Screenshot: https://snipboard.io/FlGHS9.jpg

This article does not use the Dynamic detail page, while the others do.

Please see the differences.

Please, ensure this settings is enabled on your sp page builder -> settings.

Hi Ziaul

That is almost perfect. Now it works for all articles but the SPPB content in the article does not show on the detail page...

In the article 'Test article SPPB' I have created a section with two columns and some demo content. On the detail page it only shows the article content from the default Joomla article.

Thanks for the support.

I apologizes for the delay response. I see that all articles use same details page.

Thanks

No problem at all.

All articles are indeed using the same detail page. But the problem is that the content of the SPPB article is not showing on the detail page.

Yes,

There is a known limitation in this behavior, and we are already aware of the issue. Our development team is working on it, and we hope to address it in one of our future releases.

Thank you very much for your understanding and patience.

Best regards,
