Hi, Why is there no option to add your own custom basemap for the OpenStreetMap module? Or is that considered too difficult? Would it be possible to be added at all .. Best, Tom.

Thanks for your question. At the moment, the OpenStreetMap module does not support adding fully custom basemaps through the UI. The available map styles are limited to the options provided by default to keep the setup simple and stable for most users.
That said, adding support for custom basemap providers (for example via custom tile URLs) is a valid use case and not impossible from a technical standpoint—it just hasn’t been implemented yet. I will add it to our feature reuest list,so it can be reviewed by the product management team and evaluated based on demand and feasibility.

Thanks for your question. Just to better understand your use case, could you please share an example of the kind of custom basemap you’re referring to (for example, a specific provider or style)?

One example would be the ESRI Satelite maps. There are others, that's the one that comes to mind immidiately.
Additionally, I notice from the code that there are several base maps that are listed in the leaflet.provides.js file that are not listed in the OpenStreetMap module, is this due to licencing?

I think it would be a great addition. You would only give the ability to add one base map not to add multiple custom ones I would suggest. You either pick from the list or provide your own. Makes it simpler, as I'm sure not there are not may people who would have multiple different ones.
