Buy One Half Off Option?

Hello,
I have a few clients who would like to offer a discount or coupon where, when one product is purchased, the second item is 50% off. Is there currently a way to set this up, or could this be considered for a future update?
At the moment, I was able to create a discount option when one item is purchased, but it applies 50% off to both items instead of just one. Thank you.
