Hi Support Team,

I am using EasyStore 1.8.0 on Joomla 5 with the Allura (Helix Ultimate) template. The 'Write a Review' submit button does nothing.

Technical Details:

  • Browser Console Error: ReferenceError: Can't find variable: data at alpine.min.js.
  • It appears the x-model="data.title" and associated Alpine variables are failing to initialize.

Troubleshooting already performed:

  1. Purged all legacy third-party plugins and files (site is clean).
  2. No template overrides for com_easystore exist in the template folder.
  3. Removed and re-added the Review Addon in SP Page Builder.
  4. Disabled JS compression in Helix.
  5. Reinstalled EasyStore 1.8.0 core files.

Can you provide a fix or a patched JS file for the Alpine.js initialization?

Thank you for the detailed report and for outlining the troubleshooting steps you’ve already taken.

We have identified the issue you described regarding the unresponsive “Write a Review” submit button and the associated Alpine.js (This is bundle of all js used) error. This has been forwarded to our development team for further review and investigation.

We appreciate your patience on this matter. Hopefully, the issue will be resolved in this upcoming release.

It's good to know that the dev team are on to it.

Again I will look forward to the next release.

So far things are going well with Easystore setup and testing. This is the last of the issues I have found to date.

Yes, after installing the Easystore update, the submit button is now working.

For the benefit of others, the reviews do not appear instantly after being submitted. Before reviews appear on the public site the following needs to happen:-

  1. The review published from administrator.

  2. The product page refreshed.

Hi,

Yes, that’s correct — reviews need to be manually approved in order to be displayed on the product.

I wondered if there might be a notification sent to the shop or web site owner when reviews are received and pending review. I didn't notice anything while testing so assume it is just a matter of logging on every so often to check for reviews.
