Hiding Site Template On Front-end Editing

Is there a way to hide the site template when editing in front-end view. I don't want styles, etc to be hidden, but it would be nice if there was a way to disable module positions in the template, so we don't see page header and footer when editing content.

Sometimes, with conditional modules, we find that multiple modules are displayed when editing via the frontend, that would never appear together when a user is visiting the site (eg: conditional banners, etc).

It would be good to have a global SPPB option to hide template positions when editing in frontend.

Hi Alex,

I think it's not possible without extra code customization becuase front-end editor use default view.

If you can record video with explaination how it should work (I mean what should be hidden etc. on/off) and reason why(!) then I can share with our developer team.

My thinking would be that there would be a toogle to allow site admins to tell SPPB not to show content template positions other than the one that contains the actual page / article content elements.

Here's a video for one of my sites where we have a lot of conditional banner images, and SPPB is showing all of them, making for rather confluated frontend editing experience:
