Hello,

Thank you for reaching out.

The Article Detail Page is indeed a powerful feature. However, at the moment, it is not possible to assign an Article Detail Page to a specific category only. Once created and assigned, it applies globally to all article pages on the website.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Best regards

Ok, unfortunately this makes a powerful feature completely useless :) In real life websites you usually have different kind of pages better managed as joomla articles than static pages: product pages, blog articles, documentation, legal (privacy, TOS)...

Any other way SP can help simplifing and improve the management of these kind of pages? Or do you suggest to use the standard joomla layout overrides instead for these cases ?

You can reply with:

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback and for sharing your use case.

The Article Detail Page feature was designed to enhance and customize the default Joomla article layout experience. Its primary purpose is to provide a single, global template for standard Joomla articles rather than supporting multiple article-detail variations based on categories, content types, or other conditions.

At this time, we do not have plans to introduce multiple Article Detail Pages with category-specific assignments.

For the type of content structure you described—such as product pages, documentation, blog posts, legal pages, and other distinct content collections—we recommend exploring SP Page Builder's Dynamic Content feature. It is specifically designed to build different layouts and content collections with greater flexibility:

Depending on your project requirements, Joomla layout overrides may also be a suitable approach when you need different presentations for different article categories while continuing to use standard Joomla articles. However, please note that implementing and maintaining Joomla layout overrides typically requires coding knowledge and familiarity with Joomla's templating system.

We appreciate your suggestions, as they help us better understand how users would like to extend the Article Detail Page functionality in the future.

Best regards
